This original Burberry fragrance was released a long time ago, back in 1981 to be exact and was the first time the famous fahion house had dabbled in perfumery. The recipe was a winner and in the 29 years since its release it has been re-released and re-worked a number of times, each time to a slightly different result. This new version of the classic Burberry scent features: bergamot, lavender, mint, thyme, amber, moss, cedar, and tonka bean. It strides in boldly at the opening, with a rich blend of herbs that make for a complex and sharp introduction. It is heavy on the lavender throughout the scent’s development and in the opening is paired with a powerful burst of bergamot. Mint and thyme also feature heavily in the mix, in both the top and middle of the fragrance and are much needed as they add a cool freshness to the scent that is one of its defining qualities. Some find this freshness a touch too cool for their tastes but I think it is what Burberry for Men is all about and believe it is carried off very well by this particular scent. If you like our fragrances fresh then this is definitely the one for you. I for one love that cool minty feel on my skin and how refreshing a scent like this one can be on those stifling summer days and nights. Apply with care though, you don’t want to go out smelling like you mistook your mouthwash for aftershave
