Christian Dior Fahrenheit EDT Spray

Everyone knows this scent, it is one of those fragrances that crosses all geographical and cultural boundaries, making it instantly recognisable. When Fahrenheit was first released back in 1988, not only did it take the world by storm, it also broke all sales records, selling more bottles over the three month period following its release than had ever been done before. Just to give you a rough idea to its success it sold around 200,000 bottles more than Christian Dior Poison did in its first three months on the market. The notes for Fahrenheit are as follows: bergamot, honeysuckle, hawthorn, sandalwood, nutmeg, violet, cedar, patchouli and tonka bean. Fahrenheit kicks off with bright honeysuckle, pronounced bergamot and toned down hawthorn which pairs wonderfully well with the very carefully thought out notes of both honeysuckle and bergamot. As the head notes begin to recede you’ll find a wonderful bouquet of violets that are combined with nutmeg. Fahrenheit’s base notes come in just as the strange heart notes begin to soften and what you get at this stage is powdery cedar and sandalwood notes and gentle patchouli which both have the effect of warming and softening the whole scent as it dries down. I suppose the only weakness of this most excellent scent is its ubiquity, the fact that whenever you wear it and wherever you go people instantly know what it is.
