Christian Dior recently released this magnolia centered J’adore spinoff to great interest by loyal fans of the brand. This is the quinticensial spring time sent (how many times have we had to say that of a Dior perfume?) with the petals of the magnolia flower actually symbolizing renewal and perfection in nature. This adition to the J’adore line is a citrussy floral that is both fresh and light as well as being rich and sweet. The notes include magnolia, lemon, bergamot and neroli which work with eachother so well, each highlighting features of the other. The opening is brisk and fresh, is a refreshing lemon aroma that slowly softens as the floral heart of this scent begins to blossom. Fresher and more simple than the original this is the perfect option for those who found the original J’adore a bit too busy for their personal tastes. It is very ecconomical in both its use of notes and the way these notes emerge one by one to throw themselves into the mix before slowly dissipating completely never to return. The use of citrus is exceptional and nothing like the sugary citrus starters that every perfumery seems to be releasing nowadays. A great simplification of an original classic and one sure to do well.
