Christian Dior Dior Homme Sport for Men - Dior Homme Sport opens with the typical citrus burst but in this particular arrangement of notes the citrus is ripe and sweet and the zest is provided by a nice fresh burst of ginger. This works remarkably well, the citrus taking a backseat for a change and just contenting itself with lending the opening a nice fresh sweetness as the ginger provides the zing. This opening accord is naturally fleeting and is soon replaced with a strong lavender and rosemary accord in the middle which softened an sweetened by a dose of vanilla. It is a straight descent to the base from this point where you find the ginger re-appearing in a softer and sweeter, almost cream-like form. Curiously at this point you also get another sudden dose of this time much more sour citrus that blends with woods and musk to provide this scent’s distinctive close. It is not the most refine movement from top to tail but it works for me. Dior Homme Sport is fresh and sharp and makes a very interesting break with the current mold for fresh mens scents that overdo the calone. It smells great from beginning to end and is different enough from other scents of this kind to warrant a testing. I ordinarily give anything with the word “sport” in its title a wide berth so you know exactly what not to expect from this fragrance. It is distinctive and original and what more sporty fragrances should aspire to.
