Diesel Only the Brave for Men - Named after one of the charities that Diesel’s founder Renzo Rosso is involved with Only the Brave by Diesel contains cedar, leather, lemon and amber. The opening is unmistakably fresh with a zesty lemon note that slowly softens on the skin and is joined by a very sensual note of leather. This unlikely opening accord works remarkably well, with the leather providing the much needed grounding for that effervescent lemon introduction and the lemon lending lightness and movement to the leather. The note of citrus returns in the bottom end and the second time around is much sweeter and candied than it was in the opening. With this sweet lightly spiced lemon accord in mind the base is composed of the clean warmth of amber and the resin of cedarwood with a light white musk right on the way out. Simple, yet very effective is all I can say about this particular fragrance. It reuses its notes instead of throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the mix and comes across feeling much more complicated than the sparse list of notes might have you imagining. The lasting power is exceptional and the sillage is absolutely perfect and balanced throughout. It is the perfect companion for those long summer months and rewards the wearer each and every time he applies it. Oh and interestingly the fist-shapped bottle was made from a mold of Renzo Rosso’s own fist.
