Jennifer Lopez was one of the personalities that really set in motion the trend towards celebrity perfumes and is still one of the most popular, her fragrances adorning many a young woman’s dressing table. Her perfumes were also one of the first to introduce a line of spin-offs. I’m referring to the Glow line of perfumes that all appear in the same-shaped bottle with different flavors of notes and advertising spiel. Miami Glow was released in 2005, it was developed by perfumerCaroline Sabas, and much like all the other celebrity endorsed fragrances it is intended for a younger crowd of perfume buyers. The notes include: passion fruit, pink grapefruit, blackcurrant, coconut water, cyclamen, orange blossom, vanilla orchid, sheer amber, blond and crystal musk. Cenelbrity fragrances tend to get bad reviews for being unoriginal and sickly sweet, however J-Lo’s scents tend to be a cut above the rest. Miami Glow is one such fragrance, it kicks off with sweet fruits paired with with creamy coconut, as the top notes settle down it treads that well-known anonymous floral path, but as the perfume dries down you get the same interesting warmth and powdery vanilla musk that made the original Glow fragrance such a great success. Miami Glow is a wear to the beach fragrance, or that’s how it is being marketed at least. Wherever you choose to wear it though this is a nice all rounder and much better than some of the other celebrity scents out there.
