Magnifique is a wonderfully spicy and woody perfume from Lancôme. It was developed by Jacques Cavallier and Oliver Cresp and features all of the following notes: Bulgarian rose, cumin, Maide Grasse rose, saffron, nagarmota, jasmine, sandalwood and vetiver. The fragrance opens with citrus as you might expect, and is then followed by a developing warmth as the spices start to come into play. The more they do, the more this scent becomes progressively earthier. Cumin is used to perfection in order to contrast with the florals and the more it dries the more it becomes sexier and a tad sirtier on your skin. Musk and amber blend with woods and a sweet vanilla note rounds everything off leaving the scent with a warm and mild powdery close. This is a rather special fragrance if you ask me, it follows a recent trend towards earthier and woodier scents for woman and is without a doubt one of the better ones, certainly the most sexy. The lasting power and sillage are both very impressive and it does a great job to balance the dirtier side of its character with the warmer more subtle side. An exceptional addition to the Lancôme line.
