Developed by the perfumers Carlos Benaim and Clement Gavarry, Prada Tendre was released in 2006 and includes the following list of notes: mandarin, citrus, bergamot, neroli, cedar, maté leaves, plum, cardamom, incense, vanilla, patchouli leaves, jasmine, vetiver, benzoin, sandalwood and labdanum. The perfumers in question also had a hand in the original Prada fragrance and so were perfectly suited to reining in and toning down the original fragrance for the lucrative Asian market. Usually these tones down scents tend to not bear much resemblance to the original. This is not quite so with Prada Tendre, although there has been a fair amount of re-arranging that has taken place. The amber accord that made the original so distinctive is still present but is not granted center stage in this show. Prada Tendre is lighter, sweeter, and fresher than the original, it is also much fruitier and the floral heart seems much more centered in this scent than in the one that came before. Also in the bottom half you get more woods, but less patchouli and amber for your money. Basically this new incarnation of the famous Prada fragrance is lighter and more bubbly than the original, more of a summer scent and more something you would think would be better suited for a younger wearer. It is less dark and sexy than the original but still maintains something of a genetic heritage. Generally it is a very well done reformulation of the original that keeps the basics that made the original so convincing for the most part intact.
